Tour de Big Bear 2011

This past weekend we ventured up to Big Bear for Scott and my mom to participate in the Tour de Big Bear 2011. My mom is an avid cyclist and Scott dabbles in it from time to time.
We made it to the start at 8:30 Saturday morning leaving them enough time to prepare and get the adrenaline flowing. We anticipated the weather to be cool at the beginning but it ended up being hot before the race even started.
The ride was very well organized with the tour both starting and ending in Big Bear Village.

And they're off

25 mile ride
 +
80 degree weather
+
7,000 feet elevation
+
700+ feet of climbing
=
2 hour completion time

Talk about an amazing feat. I am so incredibly proud of both of them.

They even finished with energy to spare.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Sweet Basil in Big Bear followed by some serious relaxing back at the cabin.
On Sunday morning we casually hung around the cabin before leaving for a nice breakfast.

Mom and Scott both agree, "Same Time, Same Place Next Year!" We are all looking forward to it already.
